Tuesday, March 29, 2016 Movement

Central Park, New York

So glad my good friend Kim is back to the city from her West Coast trip, but she's heading to Asia in a little over a week again. Travelling goals!
Kim was one of the first portrait photographers I've actually worked with and has helped me a lot with how I pose / embrace my look. She loves movement in her photos so the wind was our sidekick in these shots.

Monday, March 21, 2016 March Film

Midtown, New York

Had a pleasure to work with Sebastian Cvitanic earlier this month. He is a film photographer based in Seattle but originally from Chile. We've followed each other on Instagram (through Menna, my dear film friend who I also worked with) for some time and he made a short trip to NYC so we had to set up a shoot. I think the most I love about IG is to meet and collab with talents across the world and inspire each other's crafts. I really enjoyed working with Sebastian. He gave great directions yet made them effortless to follow. What he said that stuck with me was "Thank you for making art with me."

What I also love about film photos is that, they don't need edits nor filters. And they always capture a side of me that digital can't. I love the nostalgia they bring.

Monday, March 7, 2016 Ascendant Co.

Queens, New York

Really glad I got to partner with Ascendant Co recently, a clothing brand based in Huntington Beach, CA. I love the message behind their business, which is all about rising in power.

They were kind enough to ask me to join their model team thanks to my friend Dre, & sent this shirt out to do a shoot / spread a good word.

<For me, rising in power means accepting your human capabilities and building a good character. I don't think we were born to be better than one another, there are always skills one lacks and the other has and vise versa. Rising in power is a lot of sacrifices to be selfless. I am a firm believer in collaborations in talents rather than competition.>

Tuesday, February 2, 2016 Faux Fur Love

Soho, New York

I brought back the street style, after shooting mainly portraits for the past two months.

The truth in shooting on Soho cobblestone streets is that you get probably maximum of 5 shots before cars come and you run the heck away.

Currently listening to FHD Live on Spotify, though this has no relevance to the outfit lol.

I love this faux fur stole I purchased a year ago and it adds a nice luxurious feel and splash of romantic pink to my very dark ensemble.

This olive green coat is also such a steal that I got before last 'xmas.

Saturday, January 23, 2016 Blizzard 2016

Midtown, New York

Woke up to text messages from manager and coworker that work is canceled.

Instead of sleeping in, I decided to make breakfast: two fried eggs, toasted bagel with fig butter from Trader Joe's, and coconut water.
Kicked off 2016 with a night in the hospital and now I can't seem to drink any caffeine without paresthesia. So I replaced my usual favorites of English breakfast tea or brewed coffee with coconut water. It seems to give me more energy in the day.
But sadly, I have to hold off bubble teas, Starbucks or even matcha.

Outfit wise, this is my comfy, "great for a day in" wear.
I love baseball tees with boyfriend jeans and some cool socks to go along with.
Simple.

Wearing: OBEY tee, American Eagle jeans, gifted socks.
